How it all started...

Michael Todd was born Adam Kaye in Tallahassee, Florida. He studied entrepreneurship at Florida State University and International Business at the American University of Paris. But his passion has been the performing arts. An up and coming makeup artist, actor and model, Adam adopted the professional name Michael Todd to pursue his career. While working as a model and actor, Michael became interested in the idea of makeup and skincare products individually tailored to the needs and wants of each user. Michael wanted to develop a new generation of cosmetics capable of displaying each users face to its full potential. A chance encounter with Lewis Hendler, the co-founder of scunci International, one of the world's best known hair accessory brands, led to a collaboration and a shared passion for this new approach to cosmetics with a simple goal in mind, personalized cosmetics that really work to make the user look her absolute best.


...and so Michael Todd Cosmetics was born.


Adopting the standard Perform, Reform and Transform, experts in the fields of makeup, skincare and fragrance were consulted and extensive research went into identifying the products that would comprise the range of Michael Todd Cosmetics. To make the cosmetics as personalized as possible, the widest possible range of formulas and colors was used. When it was done, there were more than 1,100 products in the line, making Michael Todd Cosmetics one of if not the largest brand of cosmetics in the world.


In recognition that this is a new generation of cosmetics, Michael Todd Cosmetics has adopted a digital approach. Foregoing traditional retailers, the Company utilizes a unique, entertaining and interactive Internet super store as the platform for its cosmetics. With more than 200 pages of products to choose from, Michael Todd Cosmetics offers the user a virtually customized choice of cosmetics with more colors and formulas than offered by most other cosmetic companies.
